Model Railway Village
In 1995, Ray and Jean Jones received permission from Sefton MBC to create a model village at Kings Gardens Southport. With a team of skilled craftsmen, they transformed an overlooked area into a stunning miniature landscape, establishing the first-ever Model Railway Village in the UK. Opening its doors to the public in May 1996, this attraction showcases architectural styles from Merseyside and South West Lancashire, all in a 1:18 scale. Every building was meticulously designed and constructed on-site, with support from an in-house manufacturing base that provided miniature resin items like doors, windows, roofing sections, and even miniature people. Visitors can now enjoy the unique experience of exploring this beautiful and intricate miniature world.
